Saturday 26th January
Potato Fair- Whitchurch:
Bishop’s Waltham Minibus will be going and we have 12 spare seats! So if you want to go to something different this year and would like to join us please ring Gill as soon as possible. £2 entry + transport cost TBA.
Saturday 5th April & Sunday 6th April
Official Allotment building opening:
On Saturday there will be a dedication of the new trading building by Linda Smith, wife of the late Chris Smith in whose honour it is to be named. View our new facilities - chat with your friends - food and drink available on both days.
Sunday 20th April
RHS Spring flower show- Cardiff:
In the beautifully landscaped gardens of Cardiff Castle, this Spring Show is at the perfect time to start you thinking about your garden and wanting to get planting. Plenty to see and buy! Leaving Bishops Waltham at 8 o’clock. Price £23 which includes entry and coach.
Wednesday 30th April & Wednesday 25th June
Exbury Gardens:
John Anderson, the head gardener (who spoke to us at our last social evening), is giving us a guided tour. As he can only take 25 at a time, we will be having 2 outings, please choose which time of year you would like to go. Leaving Bishop’s Waltham at 1 o’clock. Price: £21 includes entry, tour & coach.
Sunday 13th July
Victorian Garden Party:
To be held in the gardens at Thickets House, Botley Road by kind permission of Mrs Georgie Busher. Tickets must be purchased beforehand price £7.50 each.
Dressing up and joining in games is a must!
Wednesday 6th August
Suttons Trial Grounds- Ipplepen, Newton Abbot:
This is an opportunity to see new varieties of flowers and vegetables that Sutton’s plan to introduce in 2009. Toilets and a café are available in the adjacent Fermoys Garden Centre.
Leaving Bishops Waltham at 8 o’clock. Price: £15 coach only.
Sunday 24th August
Althorp near Northampton:
In 2008 the Spencer family will have lived at Althorp for a continuous 500 years. There’s plenty to see in the house and gardens and a house and shop to spend your money in.
Pick up time: 8 o’clock. Price: £24 per person.
Friday 12th September- Tuesday 16th September
Trip to Flintshire:
Staying at The Beaufort Park Hotel, Mold near Chester.
4 nights bed breakfast and evening meal at a cost of £230 per person. (£64 single supplement). £40 deposit per person required when booking.
Sunday 28th September
Audley End House and Gardens:
We shall be visiting on ‘Apple Day’ when we can enjoy the fruits of their organic gardening, and also tour the house and rest of the gardens.
Leaving Bishop’s Waltham at 8 o’clock. Price: £22 per person.
Sunday 12th October
Stourhead, Wiltshire:
Visit the beautiful grounds and the house, hopefully for some lovely autumn colours.
Leave Bishops Waltham at 9 o’clock. Price: £22 including entry and coach.
National Trust members:£11.50 per person only for coach.
Tuesday 25th November
Cadbury World, Birmingham:
leave Bishops Waltham Square at 8:00 a.m. Price £24 per person
