Allotments

The allotment plots are a really important community resource and need to be effectively managed. There are a total of some 140 or so plots and half plots.

Old notice about allotment plot sizes

The Gardening Club rents the allotment site in Albany Road from Bishops Waltham Parish Council on whose behalf the individual allotment plots are managed.

This means that the club collects rents and maintains the site in good condition, ensuring that hedges are cut and paths mown.

The Gardening Club also runs a Trading Shed at the allotments, currently open between 10 a.m. and 12 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Further details are available by following this link: trading

Allotment holders who fail to till their plots are asked to vacate, to enable the plot to be more effectively cultivated. When letting allotments, priority is given to Bishops Waltham Parishioners. The waiting list currently stands at about 15 (March 2008).
